Homeschool Minnesota - MÂCHÉ Statement of Faith
The corporation will promote, and its board members and officers will believe and profess, the following Statement of Faith:
1. THE WORD OF GOD: We believe that the Bible is the fully inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
2. THE TRINITY: We believe there is one living and true God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect; eternally existing in three equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, John 15:26, 1 Peter 1:2)
3. GOD THE FATHER: We believe in the omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent God the
Father, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, love, and judgment. We believe He hears and
answers prayer and saves those who come to Him through Jesus Christ from sin and
eternal damnation. (Psalm 115:3, Isaiah 55:11, Lamentations 3:37-38)
4. JESUS CHRIST: We believe in Jesus Christ; that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Wholly God and wholly man, He lived a sinless life. We believe in His teachings, and that He died as the Substitutionary, atoning sacrifice for our sins, that He arose from the dead three days later, was witnessed as alive, and ascended into heaven where He is now at the right hand of God interceding for His people. We believe He will one day return to earth and every eye will see Him. We believe that only through Christ may we be redeemed and found blameless before God. (Titus 2:13-14, Matthew 1:18-25, John 3:16-18, John 14-17, John 20:28-31, Revelations 1:7-8)
5. HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the Holy Spirit who was sent from the Father and Son to
convict the world of sin and judgment and to regenerate, make holy, equip for ministry,
and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every
believer, that He is received by grace, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, guide
and comforter. (John 14:16-17, John 14:26, John 16:7-14, Romans 8:9-15, 26-27, 1
Corinthians 3:16, Ephesians 1:13-14)
6. REGENERATION: We believe that all human beings are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 3:9 18, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:8-13)
7. THE CHURCH: We believe in one holy Church, which is the Body of Christ and to which all true believers belong, and in its mission to witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, preaching the gospel to all nations. (Acts 23:7-47, Hebrews 10:24-25, Romans 12:3-8)
8. CHRISTIAN CONDUCT: We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others and that our conduct should strive to be blameless before the
world. We believe we should be faithful stewards of our possessions, that we are to
admonish and encourage fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and that we should seek
to realize for ourselves and others full maturity in Christ. (Romans 12:9-18, Ephesians
4:13-15, Philippians 2:15)
9. SUPREME RULER: We believe that every Christian has a direct relationship with God,
who is sovereign over all, and we are thus fully responsible to Him alone in both seeking
out through prayer and His Word, the Bible, and doing His will, with religious liberty.
(John 15:4-5, Colossians 1:16, Hebrews 4:14-16, Hebrews 13:21)
10. THE LAST THINGS: We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body and a final judgment which results in the eternal joy of the righteous, and the
endless suffering of the wicked. (Matthew 25:46, Luke 17:26-30, Acts 15:14-17, 1
Corinthians 15:42-44)
11. STATEMENT ON MARRIAGE AND SEXUALITY
1.
▪ We believe that the term "marriage" has only one meaning and that is
marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a
single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Genesis 2:22-24,
Matthew 19:4-6, Mark 10:6-9, Ephesians 5:25-32)
▪ We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a
man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe that God
has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of
a marriage between a man and a woman. (Proverbs 6:32, 1 Corinthians
7:1-10, Hebrews 13:4)
▪ We believe that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery,
fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest,
pornography or any attempt to change one's sex, or disagreement with
one's biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God. (Hebrews 13:4-6, 1 Corinthians 6:9-19, Ephesians 5:5, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Colossians 3:5,
Leviticus 18:22-23, Mark 7:20-23, Jude 1:7, Deuteronomy 22:5)
▪ We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess
and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus
Christ. (1 Corinthians 6:20, Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14, Romans 3:24-
26)
▪ We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love,
kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes
directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord
with scripture. (Ephesians 4:29-32, John 15:12, Luke 6:31,1 John 4.20-21,
Proverbs 15:1-2, 1 Peter 3:8-12, Colossians 3:12-14)
12. CREATION: We believe in the literal creation account of the Bible. God alone is the
Creator and created the world in six literal days and rested on the seventh, not an
undefined or unknown period of time. (Genesis 1-2)
13. PARENTAL RIGHTS: We believe God has given parents the responsibility of training and teaching their own children. Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Proverbs 1:8-9, Proverbs 22:6,
Ephesians 6:4
